Online fun for the boring and dull days
62The boring routine
Its one of those rainy days, cold and dreary, just a little bit more gloomy than usual. I'm here thinking what first got me started on the Internet? What was it that attracted me and hooked me to the cyber world?
Its days like this i remember why I joined internet communities and how i came across a couple fun sites to play on during the :"stuck inside" days that rain brings.
From mmorpgs to cellphone communities
There's something quite haunting about wielding a sword and facing a massive monster. Even more so knowing you have magic at your finger tips! What could it be is it really the slice and dice action, full on assault or is it really the guy standing next to you screaming mindlessly "WERE GONNA DIE WERE GONNA DIE"!?
At first glance it really was just a game another place to kill time during those rainy days, but as time grew quicker glued to the glowing monitor of a computer screen. I've found it really was the guy screaming bloody murder as we paraded down the 3D digital world that is an mmorpg.
In fact that so called guy now sits next tome in the living room. That so called guy became my wife and gave me a beautiful daughter. Just a little bit of food for thought i guess really.
So here are a couple mmorpgs I found interesting and amusing for my time in the mmo world;
- RF Online at playrf.com
- Aion = pay to play but popular and awesome experience for me
- Fly FF - fly forever which was my first game
Now for me Aion was the only game i ever played on and paid cash to play well worth it if you have that sort of time on your hands. But, for those of you looking to delve into a world for free and enjoy the perks of an 3D online community.
Look up F2P mmorpg's = free 2 play !
Online Communities
So here we are again , no real drive for the video game munchies and really no cash to throw around online at the moment.
This is where the world can get as bright as a light bulb or as dark as a crater in the moon. Its time to get creative to find a different outlet a new way to connect with others. Especially if we are on a budget!
Ive found the most heartfelt and most heart wrenching stories come from the online chat sites or forum based sites. Partly because if you find someone out there its the distance that can ether kill you inside or make you determine to find your way to them.
This has truly become the "Digital Age"! Here are some good places to join just for the occasional laugh, tear, and maybe more for those who are daring!
1. studentcenter.org = my first site I joined when I was 13 met a lot of good people back then good for the young jr. high and high school students.
2. MobaMingle.com = a fun little avitar cell phone based site for those who are always on the go.
3. Gaiaonline.com good for little flash games and chat ! Be wary though this is an all age mixed site so keep that in mind.
Above all its nice to have something to do when your facing the rain and realize the outside world has shut you in doors for a day. Just remember no online community no mmorpg substitutes the world out there and the people that live right next to you at least in one dreamers opinion
